April has over 12 years of experience in the energy industry, with her last 10 in the renewable project development space. She currently manages a team of project developers at Clearway Energy that are developing over 6 GWs of renewable energy projects. She has worked on utility scale development of many GWs of wind, solar, and battery projects across multiple markets. Prior to her time at Clearway, she worked at Invenergy where she led development of the Samson Solar Energy Center, the nation’s largest solar project at 1,310 MWs. She has deep expertise in the entire project development life cycle, from site identification through operations.

Growing up in Nebraska in a rural community with a farming family gives April a unique perspective. The economic development that clean energy projects provide to rural communities is her strongest motivation for her work. April earned a Masters of Environmental Management from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. She also obtained a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hastings College.

April has been on the planning committee of the WRISE Leadership Forum for 6 years, serving as a Co-Chair the last 2 years.
