Sheri Givens serves as President and CEO of the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), a national nonprofit organization committed to accelerating the transition to a clean, affordable, and resilient energy system for all. She leads the organization's strategic efforts across its three pillars—grid, growth, globe—on behalf of more than 1,000 member organizations, including utilities, regulators, corporations, and clean energy stakeholders nationwide. Givens brings more than 20 years of experience in legal, regulatory, legislative, and external affairs, with leadership roles in both the public and private sectors. Prior to SEPA, she was Vice President and Head of U.S. Policy and Regulatory Strategy at National Grid, where she led policy development and stakeholder engagement supporting the company's clean energy goals across Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island. Earlier in her career, she founded a consulting practice advising on energy policy, consumer education, and regulatory issues. In Texas, she held senior public service roles as the governor-appointed state utility consumer advocate and as an attorney with the state utility commission. Givens currently serves as Co-Chair of the RE+ Events Board and as an Ambassador for the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Initiative. Her previous board service includes DOE's Electricity Advisory Committee, Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships, Keystone Energy Board, Association of Women in Energy, Northeast Clean Energy Council, and Boston Green Ribbon Commission. She holds a B.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. She is a licensed attorney in Texas and resides in Massachusetts.
