Helen joined Lightsource bp in 2021. After leading the Business Development team in the U.S., Helen led the U.S. business and served on Lightsource bp’s global executive team as interim Chief Operating Officer for four months while the COO was on family leave. Helen is currently the Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management and Strategy, a team responsible for M&A, Business Operations, and management of Lightsource bp’s US portfolio. With over 20 years of experience working in the renewable energy sector, Helen has broad industry experience. Prior to Lightsource bp, Helen was responsible for origination at 7X Energy, an Austin-based developer that sold a 9 GW portfolio of solar projects to bp in 2021. Before working in solar development, Helen was a strategy and marketing consultant for cleantech companies with businesses ranging from efficient engines to carbon capture technologies to residential solar. Helen also served as Senior VP of Strategic Planning and Marketing at Green Mountain Energy, a retail electric provider that sells green power to businesses and residential customers, spending nine years at the company. Helen has an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and a BA in Economics from Rice University. Helen has served on the boards of CleanTX and the Texas Solar Power Association.
