Rebecca is a chemical engineer by training and a systems thinker by inclination. In her ten years at NREL, she has applied life cycle assessment, discrete event simulation, stochastic analysis, and optimization techniques to the fields of circular supply chains, renewable resources, industrial sustainability, biofuels, carbon dioxide removal, and more. Much of her research focuses on assessing trade-offs and synergies between system metrics like costs, efficiency, and environmental impacts to provide decision-support insights around the sustainability of human activities.
