Alex Urbina is a Forecasting Analyst, proud dog mom of 2, and self-proclaimed energy transition changemaker. She holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering from Columbia University and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University. Though early in her career, Alex has worked on a number of interesting projects ranging from site suitability mapping for energy resilience while at Duke to fostering inter-industry synergies with ACORE. Presently, Alex is investing her talents at Southern Company, advancing sophisticated modeling techniques to improve company planning and strategy. In 2025, Alex was named a WRISE Rudd Mayer Fellow for her exceptional work and potential in the renewables industry. During her career Alex hopes to be part of the leaders who achieve a net-zero electric grid with resilient, carbon-free technologies that are developed, operated, and managed with environmental and human considerations at the forefront of decision making. In the near term, Alex aspires to build community in the Atlanta area through her work as WRISE ATL Chapter Leader.
