Becca Segel, PhD is the CEO and founder of FlowCellutions, a NSF Graduate Research Fellow, and an Activate Fellow. FlowCellutions increases the efficiency and uptime of grid-scale batteries that support critical infrastructure such as data centers, hospitals and our electric grid through smart sensing and predictive maintenance innovations. The early research for FlowCellutions stems from innovations created during Becca’s PhD at the University of Pittsburgh in the chemical engineering department. The team is currently working with paid pilot partners to validate their technology and earn early revenue. They raised more than half a million dollars from Activate, Innovation Works, and government grants. Becca’s biggest motivation for FlowCellutions is to bring reliable power to all communities and support a more sustainable grid.
